SUMMARY
The Kraft Group Family Office is seeking an experienced tax professional to manage sophisticated tax planning and compliance activities across high-net-worth individuals, trusts, investment partnerships, private investments, and estate planning structures. This position works closely with senior leadership and external advisors and offers exposure to complex, multi-generational family office matters. Ideal candidates will come from Big 4 Private Client Services, regional private client tax practices, multifamily offices, or single-family offices.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Family Office Tax Planning & Advisory
- Implement tax planning for high-net-worth individuals, trusts, estates, and investment partnerships.
- Advise on income, gift, estate, and fiduciary tax matters, including trust and life insurance structures.
- Prepare tax projections and identify tax planning opportunities across family office and investment entities.
- Monitor tax law developments and assess potential impacts to the family office and related entities.
- Tax Compliance & Reporting
- Oversee the preparation and review of federal and state tax returns for individuals, trusts, estates, and investment partnerships.
- Ensure timely filing of returns, estimates, and extensions, while maintaining supporting tax workpapers and documentation.
- Coordinate tax reporting activities with internal finance teams and external advisors.
- Manage tax audits, notices, and related inquiries.
- Team Collaboration & Process Improvement
- Partner with internal stakeholders and external advisors to execute tax strategies and compliance requirements.
- Provide guidance and oversight to staff, consultants, and external service providers, as appropriate.
- Drive process improvements to enhance the efficiency and effectiveness of the tax function.
- Maintain and expand technical expertise in tax, accounting, and family office matters.
- Special projects and assignments as business dictates.
- Responsible for the maintenance, creation and control of all personally identifiable information or any other information protected by any Confidentiality or Privacy Standards or Company Policies that you have access or knowledge of, including but not limited to any state or federal regulations including HIPPA.
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES
- This position has no supervisory responsibilities
SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS
- Bachelor of Accounting required and Master of Taxation, CPA or LLM strongly preferred
- 6-8+ years of tax experience in private client services in public accounting and/or family office with focus on Individual, Trust and Investment Partnership area
- Advanced knowledge of individual, fiduciary, partnership and estate taxation
- Strong knowledge of US federal and state income tax reporting requirements
- Advanced excel proficiency, experience using OneSource and GoSystem tax software
- Strong organizational, analytical thinking and time management skills required
- Detail oriented, ability to multi-task, ability to analyze complex tax issues
- Strong project management skills, ability to drive process improvements and meet deadlines
- Works well collaboratively in a team environment
