Position Summary

The Senior Tax Accountant supports J.M. Huber Corporation’s U.S. federal and state income tax compliance, reporting, and planning activities. This role prepares complex tax returns and provisions, contributes to cash tax forecasting, and partners with business units to ensure accurate and timely tax reporting. As part of a lean corporate tax team, this position offers broad exposure across domestic and international tax matters while driving process improvements and operational efficiency.  This position may be filled at the Senior or Manager level based on the candidate’s experience, scope of ownership, and demonstrated capability.

Principal Duties & Responsibilities

  • Prepare complex U.S. federal and state income tax returns, including supporting workpapers and research.
  • Support tax provision activities and prepare monthly cash tax forecasts.
  • Coordinate with business units to gather, review, and validate tax data.
  • Monitor and manage foreign tax filings and reporting calendars.
  • Calculate and process estimated federal and state tax payments.
  • Identify and resolve tax issues; recommend process improvements and efficiencies.
  • Support federal and state tax audits, including documentation and analysis.
  • Contribute to tax-related administrative activities (budgeting, invoice processing, tax resource management).
  • Collaborate cross-functionally to ensure compliance and alignment across the organization.

Specialized/Technical Knowledge or Required Skills

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or related field; advanced degree (MAcc, MST) and/or CPA preferred.
  • 5+ years of tax experience, including work on complex consolidated returns; corporate/in-house experience preferred.
  • Strong knowledge of U.S. tax regulations, GAAP, and ASC 740.
  • Experience with tax software (Corptax preferred) and Microsoft Office tools.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to work across business functions.
  • Self-starter with ability to manage multiple priorities in a deadline-driven environment.
  • Ability to travel ~10% as needed.
