As a Tax Senior Analyst, you will manage projects related to state and local income and franchise tax compliance, ensuring adherence to tax laws and reporting requirements.

 RESPONSIBILITIES

•            Prepare and self-review state and local tax compliance, including returns, estimated payments, extension calculations, amended returns, net operating losses, apportionment calculations, and state-specific modifications.

•            Develop and maintain automated return templates for real-time provision-to-return calculations and integration of new entities.

•            Research and document the Company’s tax return positions and exposures for state and local tax, monitoring legal developments and ensuring efficient tax structures.

•            Manage tax compliance software tools (OneSource Income Tax and OneSource State Apportionment), including binder maintenance and data set management.

•            Collaborate with Accounting and IT to ensure GAAP compliance and facilitate data downloads into tax preparation software.

•            Provide technical assistance for audit defense during state and local audits and maintain audit logs.

•            Assist in preparing and reviewing income tax provision calculations, account reconciliations, and journal entries.

•            Maintain tax payments and refunds log, and prepare supporting workpapers for state deferred inventory items.

•            Prepare documentation regarding income tax exposures and assist in quarterly evaluations of legislative developments and tax planning.

EDUCATION and EXPERIENCE QUALIFICATIONS

•            4-Year Degree Preferred

•            CPA and/or Master of Taxation preferred

•            3-5 years of experience in a corporate tax environment

 REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS or ABILITIES

•            Proficient in accounting/tax software and MS Office
•            Strong understanding of accounting principles and corporate tax law
•            Excellent project and time management skills
•            Effective oral, written, and interpersonal communication skills
•            Strong research, analytical, and problem-solving abilities
•            Collaborative team player with the ability to work independently
•            Professional demeanor with strong organizational skills
•            Experience with Oracle, OneSource, FCCS, or SmartView
